Tottenham are one of the clubs interested in signing Internazionale midfielder Marcelo Brozovic this summer.
The Lowdown: Spurs start season strongly
Spurs have been rocked by Harry Kane’s desire to leave the club this summer (Sky Sports), but they started off their season in the best possible way against Manchester City.
Even without Kane, Tottenham were able defeat the Premier League champions 1-0 thanks to a goal from Heung-Min Son.
The Latest: Spurs eye Brozovic
The end of the transfer window is now approaching and, according to Fichajes, Spurs are interested in signing Brozovic.
Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are also said to be in pursuit of the Croatia midfielder.
The Verdict: True talent
Brozovic who would be a fantastic addition to the Spurs squad if Daniel Levy were able to lure him to north London. Former Dinamo Zagreb manager Nenad Bjelica even said that the 28-year-old was “among the best three midfielders in the world” in 2019 (via fedenerazzurra.net), a year after he appeared in the World Cup final for his country against France in Russia.
He played a crucial role for Inter last season in the middle of the park as they won the Serie A title, making 33 appearances in the division (Transfermarkt) and achieving the squad’s fourth-highest WhoScored ranking for the campaign.
Valued at £36m by Transfermarkt and with some of Europe’s top clubs interested in Brozovic’s services, it would be some feat for Levy to capture the 28-year-old. However, as they showed against Manchester City, they can be competitive in the Premier League; and if they can hold on to Kane, they may well become a far more attractive proposition for title-winning talents such as the Croatia midfielder.
In other news, Tottenham also want to sign this eye-catching winger.
