West Ham United’s London Stadium has been raided by HMRC as part of a tax fraud investigation, along with Newcastle United’s St James’ Park.The HMRC released a statement on Wednesday morning saying it had arrested “several men working within the professional football industry for a suspected income tax and national insurance fraud.â€One of those clubs they have targeted is said to be the Irons, and they have “seized business records, financial records, computers and mobile phones.â€It is unclear who has been taken into custody as of yet and the HMRC also added that they are “unable to provide any further information at this time.â€Tottenham Hotspur supporters were quick to have their say on the news involving one of their arch-rivals, with some hoping that the Hammers would be deducted enough points to see them relegated from the Premier League.Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction to the news…
