Manchester United fans had look enviously on at new Arsenal signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan on Saturday after the attacking midfielder produced a creative masterclass to pick up a hat-trick of assists against Everton.
The 29-year-old Armenian was in lethal form, combining well with the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to put the Toffees to the sword at the Emirates, winning 5-1.
United fans are of course happy to have brought Alexis Sanchez to the club, but some are now feeling like the decision to let Mkhitaryan leave was a mistake and that the reason he didn’t realise his potential in Manchester was down solely to Jose Mourinho.
It appears that the new Arsenal man will make the most of creative freedom in Arsene Wenger’s set-up in contrast to a more restricted role when given opportunities by the Portuguese at United.
Will letting him leave prove to be a mistake and is it fair to blame Mourinho for the player not delivering to the level he may be capable of?
