Sheffield Wednesday boss Steve Bruce should look to call in a favour from former employers Manchester United when it comes to Scott McTominay.
What’s the word, then?
McTominay has made seven appearances for United this term and 31 in total for the Red Devils since stepping into the first-team picture.
The 22-year-old has often been criticised by United fans, but he was certainly a favourite of Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho’s exit from Old Trafford might well have changed McTominay’s situation though and it is difficult to imagine that the Lancaster-born midfielder will be in the plans of United’s next long-term manager.
McTominay is currently with the United squad on a warm-weather training camp in Dubai.
He was involved against Reading in the FA Cup at the weekend, but there is every chance that the midfielder could be available on loan this month.
And new Wednesday boss Bruce must do all he can to sign the Scotland international from the club that he captained during his playing days.
Why should Wednesday make a move?
The 6ft 4in ace has had a tough time in recent months, but he is capable of making a huge difference to a Championship club.
McTominay will find it difficult to become a first-team regular at United, but he has already made six Premier League appearances this term.
The midfielder also has Champions League experience to his name and would bring plenty of qualities to the Wednesday midfield.
The Owls are unbeaten in their last four Championship matches to sit in 16th spot in the table ahead of their trip to Hull City this weekend.
There is no question that Bruce will be keen to boost his squad this month and a move for McTominay makes perfect sense.
